BRCA JeneScreen Genetic Screening Program
Some Orthodox Jewish families rely on a shidduch for their children to meet a prospective marriage partner.
If a BRCA gene fault is identified, it may need to be discussed with the Shadchan (matchmaker) beforehand.
Many Rabbis feel that BRCA genetic testing should be deferred until after marriage, so that results won’t affect a shidduch.
If this is an issue for you or your family, we suggest you speak with a Rabbi before proceeding.
